On the road again

FY, you are done.

FY, as in "first year." As in, the first 50% of the two-year MBA program.

I'm not going to get too reflective. My collection of thoughts about the year are wildly diverse. Any rant or gush-fest would be inaccurate. Perhaps one day, I'll write an essay about the case-study method seen through the eyes of an introvert or the amazing, doors-always-open faculty.

But that's all in my rearview mirror now.

Over the past two days, my sister and I have driven through the boringly idyllic Ohio and Indiana farmland, paid countless 70-cent tolls, and finally pulled up to Wheaton, Illinois.

Our brother graduates from college on Sunday. A more perfect Mother's Day gift, I can not conjure up.

And then, come Monday morning, he and I are off on a brother-sister baseball adventure.

We'll hit three ballparks, on my quest to visit every single one. (The challenge is upped because they keep closing stadium and building new ones! Dang it!)
  1. Target Field, the newest addition to the MLB roster, in beautiful Minneapolis
  2. Kauffman Stadium, home to the Royals in Kansas City, and apparently (as I was informed tonight at tonight) my dad's favorite ballpark.
  3. Great American Ballpark (Yes, that's the actual name, apparently after the Great American Insurance Group. Seriously!) in Cincinnati, Ohio, on the Ohio River
Paul also had the nifty idea of visiting the Field of Dreams, the namesake of the Kevin Costner classic movie, literally in the cornfields of Iowa. Universal Studios has a gift shop there, but apparently it's free to wander the bases and scamper through the corn.

Bonus: the Truman Library is on our way, in Independence, MO. Super nerdy, super fun trip back in time. I can't wait.

Ohh when you pass though KC you should stop by La Bodega if you have time. They have sangria by the pitcher and awesome tapas. Beth and I when there last summer when we were visiting.

I'm jealous (again), Brianne! At some point you need to include "Durham Bulls Athletic Park, Durham, NC" in your baseball travels :)
